Hampi Deccan Backroads

Ride into a ruined empire of boulders.

About This Tour

Hampi is one of the strangest, most beautiful landscapes in India — the ruins of the Vijayanagara empire scattered across a horizon of giant balancing boulders. Over four days from Bangalore we ride the quiet Deccan backroads to Hampi, cross the Tungabhadra by coracle, explore Anegundi's older ruins, and track sloth bears at Daroji. Easy-to-moderate riding through history and surreal geology.

Highlights

  • The boulder-strewn ruins of Vijayanagara
  • Crossing the Tungabhadra by coracle
  • Older ruins and legends at Anegundi
  • Sloth bears at the Daroji sanctuary
