Nilgiris 36-Bend Ride

The Nine Bends and the Blue Mountains.

About This Tour

The Nilgiris — the 'Blue Mountains' — are home to the most famous hairpin road in the South: the 36 numbered bends climbing from Mettupalayam to Ooty alongside the toy train. Over four days we ride that legendary ascent, explore the tea country around Coonoor and Kotagiri, and loop the high plateau of Tamil Nadu's queen of hill stations. A rewarding, moderate ghat tour with cool air and endless tea horizons.

Did the 36 bends at first light with the toy train running alongside. Cold air, empty tarmac, proper riding. Easily my favourite ghat in the South.
